Presentation at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) on September 16, 2019.

H2i Balkans (Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina), an offshoot of Singapore water technology company Hydroinformatics Institute (H2i), presented its project “Local Early Flash Flood Warning system for basin Ričina” at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic. The project has been developed and carried out under the UNDP partnership scheme Bosnia and Herzegovina – Czech Republic. The main goal of Czech – UNDP Partnership for SDGs is to bring Czech expertise and innovative solutions to partnership countries.

In 2018, the project proposal received support from UNDP Challenge Fund in the form of a grant with the objective of aid partnership between H2i Balkans and EZ Hydroinformatics (Prague, Czech Republic). The grant funding provided a solid start for the collaboration and implementation of the project

The event itself was organized by UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Sarajevo, with an aim to present the Czech-UNDP Partnership for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). On this occasion, other potential local partners were informed about the Programme activities, possibilities of applications and cooperation, and requirements needed for submitting project proposals within the scheme.

The event was an excellent opportunity for H2i Balkans to present its project and to share the experience with representatives of UNDP on all phases of the ongoing project: application, identification of the Czech partner, the challenges during the project implementation, and expectations regarding the final results of the project completion.
